Our Work in the Community

Princeton’s Veterans’ War Memorial Park
Provide long-term improvement, beautification and maintenance of Princeton's Veterans’ War Memorial Park.

Princeton’s YMCA & YWCA Garden
Planned and implemented the improvement of Princeton’s YMCA and YWCA gardens and landscape and conduct bulb-planting workshops with children in their programs.

French Market and Mercer Island
Created during World War I to benefit suffering French and Belgians, the “French Market” flower sales continues today in the spring on Mercer Island, which was created and paid for by The GCP. Funds generated benefit GCP’s civic projects.

Mercer County’s Meals on Wheels
Over 300 holiday arrangements are created annually for Mercer County’s Meals on Wheels to be delivered to their clients with meals.

Local Butterfly Efforts
Support the installation of butterfly plantings and educational signage at the D&R Greenway and The Watershed Institute with distribution of milkweed seeds and information regarding its importance in support of the Monarch Highway Project.

Co-sponsor with Friends of Princeton Open Space of collection and display of books relating to sustainable gardening at the Princeton Public Library.

Co-sponsor of public lectures include:
• Ken Druse, author of “The New Shade Garden”, “Natural Companions, and Making More Plants: The Science, Art and Joy of Propagation.
• Doug Tallamy, author of “Bringing Nature Home” and “The Living Landscape
• Sustainable Princeton Breakfast

Mountain Lakes House
Helped with the removal of invasive plants and re-planting of native plants at Mountain Lakes House and grounds in Princeton.

We Share Solar “Solar Suitcase”
Funded, built and sent a We Share Solar "Solar Suitcase" to Africa to provide light to maternal health clinic waiting area without other forms of electricity.

Morven Museum & Garden
A continued supporter of Morven Museum & Garden’s “Morven in May” celebration, sponsor of "The Commodore's Greenhouse" exhibit and featured gallery display at Morven's annual Festival of Trees.
