Membership
The Garden Club of Princeton is a multi-generational club whose members have a passion for gardening and horticulture. We organize events, trips, and workshops, during the September through May season. All members volunteer on committees to create and host the club's activities – making it a great opportunity to hone their creativity, build leadership skills, further their horticulture skills, and participate in charitable giving. Below are just some of the activities the club members take part in each season.

Volunteering
Throughout the year, GCP members participate in several volunteer projects in Princeton, including caring for the garden at All Wars Memorial Park, creating holiday arrangements for Meals on Wheels, and more.
Horticulture Shows
Our members share a passion for the cultivation and propagation of non-invasive plants. Three times a year, GCP hosts membership meetings where members bring their best specimens for a judged horticulture show.
Visiting Gardens Trips
The passion for horticulture also includes Garden History and Design. The group carpools to different botanical gardens and specialty nurseries as part of our visiting gardens series.
Conservation Projects
Environmental conservation has been a key tenet of GCP since its founding in 1911. Today members continue that tradition by volunteering for projects like nature preserve restoration projects and hosting conservation education lectures.
Charitable Giving & Fundraising
GCP hosts a number of fundraisers to support the club's civic projects, including donations to scholarship funds and local charities.
Workshops
Each season, members participate in several workshops ranging from plant propagation to photography.
Floral Design Shows
GCP hosts at least one floral design show each year, where members showcase their creativity by competing in themed, judged classes.
Membership Meetings & Social Events
In addition to volunteering, workshops, and social activities, the club holds membership meetings and parties, including our formal closing meeting in May, where members traditionally wear hats.
Annual Photo Show and Reception
Botanical-inspired creativity also extends to photography. The club hosts an annual photo show with a reception.

The club is buzzing with activity and welcomes engaged, active Princeton-area residents with a passion for horticulture, floral design, conservation, or photography. If you have experience in one of these areas and an interest in volunteering, we would love to connect! Once a year, GCP welcomes a small group of new members through an interview application process. While we have a limited number of spots, we encourage everyone with a genuine interest to apply and share what inspires you. Our hope is to bring together a warm and diverse community, where each member brings their unique talents to the club.
